Togo Becomes Full Member State of OSC

Addis Ababa, 19 October 2023 – The Government of the Togolese Republic has, today, deposited its Instrument of Ratification of the Constitutive Charter of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC), completing the process for full State Membership in the OSC.

The Instrument of Ratification, signed by the President of the Togolese Republic, H.E. Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, was presented to the Secretary-General, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, by the Ambassador of the Republic of Togo, H.E. Batengue Bankotine, at the Organisation’s Headquarters in Addis Ababa.

Following the formal ceremony, they engaged in a  fruitful and constructive exchange on the means to consolidate and amplify cooperation between the Togolese Republic and the OSC. The Secretary-General congratulated and commended the Togolese Republic for this historic milestone, and ratified the OSC’s readiness to concretise collaboration in a number of projects and initiatives in balanced and inclusive education, transdisciplinary research, and endogenous technology development.

The Ambassador, in turn, assured the Secretary-General of his Government’s complete commitment to the Organisation’s broad vision for a Third Way of Development, from and by the South.
