Secretary-General Visits Schools in Addis Ababa

In continuation of his visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC), H.E. Sheikh Manssour Bin Mussallam, visited yesterday two schools in Addis Ababa.

At the Kokebe Tsibah Primary School, the Secretary-General exchanged with the teachers and other staff on their programmes for children with special needs, as well as the solutions found by the school to overcome certain structural challenges.

The Secretary-General likewise paid a visit to Genet KG nursery school where he engaged with school principals, teachers and children on their needs, expectations and priorities, and how the OEC can serve their future needs and aspirations for balanced and inclusive education. He emphasised that education must protagonise children and youth to become empowered citizens and pioneers of social development.

The Secretary-General commended the endeavours made by the school principals and teachers to enable children at a young age to master different languages, creative skills development and embracing the millenary cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity of Ethiopia’s population.
