In conclusion of the working agenda of his official visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC), H.E. Sheikh Manssour Bin Mussallam, held a bilateral meeting this afternoon with the Minister of Education of Ethiopia, H.E. Professor Birhanu Nega at the Ministry of Education’s headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The aim of the visit served as a timely opportunity to discuss the Organisation’s Strategic Plan (2022-2029) as a framework for the implementation of contextual, nationally-led balanced and inclusive education policies, to be made operational through the OEC’s Programme for 2022-2023.
Amidst the emergence of COVID-19 and upheaval of social and geopolitical crises, the Secretary-General and Minister of Education reaffirmed their joint determination to reinforce international solidarity-based South-South cooperation, emphasizing that OEC and Ethiopia shoulder a common obligation and responsibility to coordinate their efforts in the realisation of a third, alternative and equitable, way of development through and from education.
