The Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC) held its first General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland from 6-8 December 2021. Following the entry into force of its’ Constitutive Charter in May 2021, the OEC organised its first General Assembly in order to conclude the preparatory phase and the commencement of the Organisation’s executive phase.
The General Assembly was opened by OEC’s Secretary-General-elect, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, and was attended by Founding States and Associate Members of the Organisation.
The OEC’s Strategic eight year plan, the Organisation’s main programmes of activities and budget, and other related operational matters will be deliberated by the different delegations during the three days of the General Assembly.
OEC’s Secretary-General-elect said at the opening of the General Assembly:
“For what could I possibly express that could be worthy of the countries, of the organisation, of the women and men that have through the necessary devotion, the unwavering determination, the unyielding conviction that is theirs. These women and men that have enabled in spite of a crisis of unforeseen adversity this assembly to convene. And who have ensured in the midst of a deadly pandemic the entry into force of our constitutive charter with extraordinary timeliness, in less than a year and four months from its adoption, in record time, reflecting their keen, profound awareness of the urgency of the historic mission that is ours.”
