Congres of the Greater South (ConGreS)
The Congres of the Greater South (ConGreS) is a momentous process in which delegates throughout the Global South and from across sectors will come together, in a series of consultations culminating with a Summit of the Greater South, to collectively contribute to a new and inclusive future for Humanity through the definition of a Third Way of Development, and the articulation of a common plan of action for its realisation.
The ConGreS is convened in alignment with the aspirations of the Universal Declaration of Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE), which proclaims, in Article XV, that the “Global South […] is uniquely positioned to collectively construct and espouse a third, alternative, inclusive way of development […] founded upon the spirit of multilateralism, solidarity, and self-determination.” Convened within the context of a rapidly changing world, the ConGreS is designed to give the Global South the collective platform to address the most fundamental questions and challenges facing Humanity.
