The Kingdom of Eswatini joins the rank of Founding States to sign and deposit the instrument of acceptance of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation’s (OEC) Constitutive Charter following its submission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Republic of Djibouti – the Charter’s depositary.

OEC’s Secretary-General-elect, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, commended Eswatini’s commitment to the vision of the Universal Declaration of the Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE) and the principles and values of OEC.

He reiterated the Organisation’s resolve to engage in a constructive dialogue with Eswatini on how to best assist and support the country in the realisation of the commitments contained within the UBDIE and the country’s aspirations for equitable, sustainable development.

OEC was founded on 29 January 2020 by countries from across the Global South as an instrument of intellectual, technical and financial cooperation and solidarity between its Member States as well as its Associate Members. As Founding States re-affirm their support to OEC’s operationalisation. the entry into force of the Constitutive Charter is now imminent triggering the convening of OEC’s first General Assembly.
