Associate Members
Trans-sectoral consultation and cooperation is a key driving force to support the realisation of OSC’s vision and mission and the implementation of the Common Programme of Member States and the 2023-2030 Strategic Plan.
Accordingly, in addition to its Member States, the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) counts with civil society organisations and academic institutions as Associate Members. They contribute to the conceptualisation, coordination, and implementation of the Organisation’s programmes and initiatives in the framework of the General Assembly and of the Conference of Associate Members.
The Conference of Associate Members
Established by General Assembly Resolution GA/RES/14 of December 2021 as a subsidiary organ for Associate Members to independently deliberate, collaborate, and make recommendations to the Organisation, the Conference of Associate Members (CAM):
-
Serves as a consultative body to the Secretariat;
-
Acts as a platform of coordination and exchange of knowledge, experiences, ideas, and practices between its Members;
-
Passes non-binding resolutions and recommendations for the consideration of the Secretariat and of the General Assembly.
Consisting of all Associate Members of the OSC, the CAM meets in ordinary session once a year and in extraordinary session as required.
